Songs for the Soul in Three Languages

Annika Jayne’s music feels like a gentle breeze carrying stories of love, loss, and hope across borders and languages. Singing in English, German, and French, she creates a space where melodies transcend words and emotions speak louder than anything else.

Inspired by the storytelling of American folk, the poetic depth of German Liedermacher, and the romantic soul of French chansons, Annika’s music is as diverse as her influences. Her songs invite listeners to reflect, dream, and find solace in the shared beauty of vulnerability.

Since her 2010 debut album Fabulous Sceneries, Annika has taken her listeners on an intimate journey. The album’s 12 tracks introduced her heartfelt songwriting and established her as a voice to watch. From there, she explored new creative horizons, including her poignant EP Time To Spread Your Wings (2020), where folk-inspired melodies blended seamlessly with introspective lyrics.

Annika’s artistry doesn’t stop at her own compositions. Her collaborations with other musicians, songwriters, and producers have added depth to her journey. She translated two songs into German and French for Feralman’s Allegories Transcended, a multilingual album benefitting music therapy charity Nordoff & Robbins. She co-wrote the heartfelt Petite planète with Franck Deschamps, reflecting on the climate crisis, and the stirring single Friendship Bench with Hugh Webber and Phil Graham, which explores the raw emotions of grief and survival after a school shooting.

Her holiday releases show another facet of her music. In 2020, Annika shared her first Christmas song, My Christmas Wish, a tender and hopeful reflection on the season’s spirit. A year later, she followed up with Wunschzettel (Wish List), her second Christmas song and her first song in German, featuring Nathan Illes and Richard Davies.

In 2021, Annika released her Nostalgia EP, revisiting songs she wrote between 1991 and 1995. The following year, she launched her Garden of Creation on Bandcamp, a subscription service that brought her closer to fans while giving them exclusive access to her artistic process. The project sparked a creative surge that culminated in Cats & Coffee Cups (2024), a purely acoustic album that embraces simplicity and raw emotion, inviting listeners into the quieter moments of life.

Sie schrieb den gefühlvollen Song Petite planète zusammen mit Franck Deschamps, ein Lied über die Klimakrise, und die eindringliche Single Friendship Bench mit Hugh Webber und Phil Graham, die die rohen Emotionen von Trauer und Überleben nach einem Schulmassaker thematisiert.
