Machen wir uns nichts vor,
Das Leben ist hart
Der Alltag ist grau und oft dröge
Und viel zu oft ist er echt öde

Doch es hilft alles nichts
Kein Jammern und kein Klagen
Da müssen wir durch ob wir wollen oder nicht
Es ist unbequem
Schlägt uns auf den Magen
Geht uns auf die Nerven, schlägt uns ins Gesicht

Zum Glück gibt’s da noch mein Kopfkino
Dann mal ich mir was aus in den allerschönsten Farben
Kann die Welt besser ertragen
Ach, bitte lass mir doch mein Kopfkino
Voller Popcorn, Limonade, Glanz und ganz viel Glitter
Dann ist nichts mehr ganz so bitter

Doch es ist wie es ist
Das Popcorn ist alle
Meistens lange bevor der Film beginnt
Dann greift man ins Leere, wo ist es hin

Und dann hat der Alltag
Uns wieder im Griff
Und kommt uns mit so ganz unnötigen Sachen
Da fällt mir was ein
Da gab's so'n Kniff
Man soll nie zu bequem sein es sich bequem zu machen

Und dann ist da noch mein Kopfkino
Dann mal ich mir was aus in den allerschönsten Farben
Kann die Welt besser ertragen

First World Problems noch und nöcher

Das Universum nur gut gemeint

Head Cinema

Let's not fool ourselves,
Life is hard
Everyday life is gray and often boring

We have to go through it whether we want to or not
It's uncomfortable
Hits us in the stomach
Gets on our nerves, hits us in the face

Luckily there's still my head cinema
Then I imagine something in the most beautiful colors
So I can bear the world better
Oh, please let me have my head cinema
Full of popcorn, lemonade, shine, and lots of glitter
Then nothing is quite so bitter

But it is what it is
The popcorn is gone
Usually long before the movie starts
Then you reach into the package wondering where did it go?

And then we're under control
Of everyday life again
That comes at us with completely unnecessary things
Then something occurs to me
There was a trick
You should never be too lazy to make yourself comfortable

And then there is my head cinema
Then I imagine something in the most beautiful colors
So I can bear the world better
Oh, please let me have my head cinema
Full of popcorn, lemonade, shine, and lots of glitter
Then nothing is quite so bitter
And as so often
It's no big deal
First World Problems over and over again
Instead of the sun, we see black holes

And most of the time
the universe only meant well
And just wants to show us the right way
And I'm smiling silently
But if all else fails

This song is about the mental cinema I sometimes need when everyday life is just grey and boring. A lot of what I'm saying can't really be translated into English. But the idea of mental cinema in this case is that it's a kind of mental escape into my imagination or daydreaming when things get tough. It makes life so much easier!
